It's not much, but we welcome your visit to our little
piece of the Internet. The below rant is what my memory will allow,
I should know more names but do not at the moment.
I do not know the history of our family but have learned
a little about the Bouffler / de Bouffler / Boufflers name
from the Internet. It seems the Bouffler's were Aristocrats
in France before the French Revolution. During the revolution,
anyone with ties to the government stood a chance of losing
their head so we spread to the corners of the earth. I
have met (via email) a few Bouffler's from Australia and
England. As for the United States, there seems to have
been a Dr. Bouffler in the Seattle Washington area and
a few came over in the 1880's according the Ellis Island
records but I do not know if there is any relation. It
seems to me that the main concentration of Boufflers is
in Australia.
My family moved to the States with my great
grandparents. They came to the United States from France
to Ohio with the name Boufflers, I only met my Great-grandmother,
Angie (1892-1974), I think my Great-grandfather's name
was Louis. They had two daughters Bertha (whom I have no
further knowledge of) and Georgette, and a son, Julian
(1912 - 1979), my grandfather.
Georgette had two
sons, Bobby and Zack.
Grandpa had 2 sons
and 3 daughters with wife Florence (1914 - 1995).
Eldest, Shirley (deceased) married Ralph
who in turn had a son Craig, a daughter, Sandy, and twin
sons Bruce and Brian.
Next was Dad, Louis Boufflers who had two sons, Randy
(me) and Alan. I married Laurie and have a daughter, Kerri,
and a son Kyle. Alan is married to Sherri and has a son,
Dalton.
Mary (also deceased) was next. She had a son, Danny, with
her first husband who she later divorced
and another son, Jimmy (deceased) and two daughters Susie
and Roxanne with her second husband, Art.
Dad's younger brother is Eddie, married to Marlene. They
have a daughter, Debbie.
The youngest of the brood is Linda who is married to Harold.
They have two daughters, Andi
and Jen, both married. Andi
and Brian have two adorable twin boys. Jen, recently married
to Brad, is expecting their first.
The remaining name sakes would be Louis Bouffler and Eddie
Boufflers, me and my brother Alan and our children. Dad
never liked the "s" at the end of our name so
he dropped it from Boufflers to Bouffler.
